Have you ever wondered what it's like to breathe underwater? If you want to find out but aren't quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course, Discover Scuba Diving will let you try scuba to see if you like it. Clubsub offer a taster of scuba diving through this course in the pool. You might try it close to home or even if you are on vacation in South Australia. While not an actual scuba certification, during the Discover Scuba Diving experience you'll learn how to use scuba equipment in shallow water and get a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world.
There is nothing like breathing underwater for the very first time. It takes a little getting used to but after a few minutes of awestruck wonder, most participants realise how easy scuba diving really is. The biggest challenge for Clubsub is coaxing Discover Scuba Diving participants out of the water when the program is over. The fun part? It's all fun! Plus, you can get credit! The session lasts for around 1 hour 30 and has a small amount of dive brief before entering the water.
You learn the basics you need to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional. One thing you'll learn is that you really can breathe underwater and whether you like doing that or not. You will:
The short dive brief will cover all of the saftey proceedures, along with all the skills that we will complete throughout the course of the session; also the gear and how it all works.
All the equipment you will need is included in a Discover Scuba Diving experience. You'll use all the basic scuba gear including a mask and snorkel, fins, a wetsuit, a buoyancy compensating jacket (BCD) that carries your weights and scuba tank, a scuba regulator to breathe from and instrumentation to monitor depth and air supply.
Just your willingness and undivided attention... and some swimming clothes or a wetsuit and an old t shirt!
If you choose to move onto the openwater course following the session then the price of this session is removed from the openwater course price.
To take participate in the Discover Scuba Diving program you must be at least 12 years old.
