What is neutral buoyancy? Scuba divers like to be neutrally buoyant so they neither sink nor float. It can be a tricky thing. Divers who’ve mastered the highest performance levels in buoyancy stand apart. You’ve seen them underwater. They glide effortlessly, use less air and ascend, descend or hover, almost as if by thought. They interact gently with aquatic life and affect their surroundings minimally. The PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy course refines the basic skills you learned as a PADI Open Water Diver and elevates them to the next level.

  •  In the Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course, you will learn to how to precisely weight yourself for optimum control, poise and balance.
  • You learn to ascend and descend so effortlessly, it seems like you only think about it and it happens.
  • By mastering streamlining, you move through the water cleanly, efficiently and gracefully. You swim near fragile environments without harm to them or yourself.

  •  Number of dives: Two. Buoyancy fundamentals, weighting and adjustments Streamlining, balance and trim, and fine tuning buoyancy and mastering hovering.

"The reason I decided to do the PPB course was because my buoyancy sometimes was a bit on the ropey side. It taught me how to do a proper weight test by using the correct weights allowing me to float at eye level, to descend slowly and controlled, to hover mid water, streamline my position, and my breathing plus save on air by breathing in to rise and out to descend. All this makes diving so much easier plus my confidence has grown. I still have to practice my techniques but I would recommend this to anyone who just needs a little help. My instructor on my course was Andrea who was very good, she made the course very enjoyable and made me feel at ease."
