Padi Advanced Open Water Course

Return to main courses page

Exploration, Excitement, Experiences. They’re what the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about. And no, you don’t have to be “advanced” to take it – it’s designed so you can go straight into it after the PADI Open Water Diver course

Course details

  • As you step beyond the PADI Open Water Diver level, you make five dives and have the opportunity to try some of diving’s most rewarding and useful specialty activities, such as deep diving, digital underwater photography, wreck diving and much more. These skills make diving much more than underwater sightseeing. Plus, the Advanced Open Water Diver course takes you one step closer to Master Scuba Diver – the ultimate non professional certification in recreational diving.
  • You’ll hone your skills by completing five adventure dives that introduce you to:
  • Underwater navigation
  • Deeper water diving  (typically anywhere from 18-30 metres/ 60-100 feet)
  • A sampler of three more Adventure Dives of your choice  One reason you’ll love the Advanced Open Water Diver course is that you and your instructor choose from 15 types of Adventure Dives to complete your course. You can try your hand at digital underwater photography, wreck diving, , diving with underwater scooters, peak performance buoyancy and much more.
  • Each Adventure Dive in the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course may credit toward the first dive of the corresponding PADI Specialty Diver course.

Ashleigh Whilock

"I decided to do my advanced course because I wanted to further my skills as a diver. I chose 5 adventure dives all suited to enhance my diving abilities. I improved on techniques I had learnt on my junior open water. I feel now my knowledge of diving is greater and more refined thanks to my advanced course. I found the instructors very reasurring as I was only 15 years old and a nervous diver at the time. I found David very patient and calm, which helped me relax and overcome my fears, which made my course a very enjoyable experience. I now plan to go on and do my rescue course with Clubsub."
